Social avatar platform for VTubers
Hyper's goal is to build the world's best avatar tools. We're starting with VTubing as our first use-case: avatars that people use to live-stream and make content online. Avatar content (also known as VTubing) has broken into the multi-billion-view-per-month category on places like Twitch and YouTube. This has given a new group of people the power to tell stories and present themselves on their own terms online while also protecting their IRL identities. We're now the #1 US VTubing app on iOS, and have recently released an AI platform to create avatar powered agents.
We're backed by great investors over at Amazon, MakersFund, YCombinator, and more.
Hyper is looking for a software engineer to join the early team with a focus on .NET integrations with Windows APIs, and Unity development. You'll help prototype, design, and architect features, libraries, and infrastructure for interactive 3D avatar experiences. You'll also collaborate with other engineers and designers, improve our processes, and contribute to a great culture along with the team.
Ideally you have a portfolio of projects that demonstrate your expertise, from personal projects to open source modules. Professional experience is preferred but not required: we care about your work first and foremost.
💻 You'll help build out our core Unity experience and integrations with Windows, so you should be experienced both in Unity and .NET. You’ll also help architect services related to the pipeline.
🔨 You should be familiar with software engineering principles and best practices. You should have a good general understanding of the various working parts of a modern application and ideally have a portfolio of your own projects to share.
📈 You'll be joining a small team focused on a fast growing product with strong signs of product market fit.
🌎 Hyper is ~7 people and we're fully remote, with a few folks in California. Written communication is extremely important due to our distributed nature, and you should be able to communicate your ideas, proposals, and decisions over the internet and in person.
💿 Bonus points if you are familiar with or have an interest in other related disciplines like AR, AI, and consumer software.
