About the role

About the Role

You will be the first person to build out the solutions team at Kombo alongside the founders and the customer success lead. This means you’ll find viable and scalable technical solutions for our customers’ problems by leveraging the Kombo API. You will be the technical sparing partner for our customers during the entire product journey. From collaborating with sales on helping key accounts to accompany those key accounts through the implementation phase, you’ll have the biggest impact on making Kombos customers truly discover the potential of the Kombo API product and ultimately be more successful.

While finding solutions for our customers, you systematically share the customer insights and work closely with Product and Engineering to improve our product to establish us as the global HR API.

About You

  • You are ambitious, self-driven, and eager to work alongside a high-performing team. You want to take over a lot of responsibility for an excellent customer experience through a technical product. You also appreciate being part of a transparent, “no-bullshit” culture that values direct communication, no politics, and is driven by high quality and ownership
  • You are curious and customer-centric. You enjoy learning about our customers’ and prospects’ businesses and helping them find solutions for their challenges.
  • You're a technical leader who has worked in a Solutions, Post-Sales, or Customer Success Engineering role before. You are collaborative and work well with your peers in Sales, Product, Engineering, and the Customer Success team
  • You have worked with APIs before and potentially have also worked on HR-tech products
  • You have excellent written and spoken English skills

What you will do

  • Build one of the key value drives (solutions) from scratch in collaboration with the founders and the customer success lead
  • You will technically onboard and work with various of our customers' teams (domain experts, product, engineering) to help them integrate Kombo and solve real-world problems. You understand people and technology, are proficient and diligent in reading API docs, and are committed to providing an excellent experience and fast time to value to Kombo’s customers
  • You identify the underlying challenges of our customers' business and jointly find solutions through the Kombo product
  • You will systematically translate your knowledge of customer problems and feedback into product insights to help shape the direction of Kombo’s product. You partner with product and engineering teams to consult, track, and manage the delivery of new solutions while managing client communication
  • You will create re-usable collateral, best practices & tools within the Customer Success team
  • You will become a recognized expert in our product offering and develop sector expertise to ensure we are always promoting the best solutions

We usually have four steps:

  • Phone screen (could we be a good fit?)

  • Technical screen (what would it be like to work with you?)

  • Lunch - close to the office (get-to-know on a more personal level)

  • Paid On-site (what would it be like to work together?)

In more detail:

Phone Screen

This stage is a more informal call to get to know more about the role, and for you to evaluate whether it’s a good fit for you. We are looking for people with a strong interest in startups; this is usually exhibited by past experience working at or starting one yourself.

Technical screen

We ask you to present a past project you've worked on.

Lunch

This is more casual and we usually visit the office afterward. We get to know each other on a more personal level and we discuss the role more in-depth. We also have a lot of time for questions from your side.

On-Site

We work on a project together, to emulate actually working together as close as possible.

About Kombo

Kombo builds a unified API for HR, payroll and recruiting systems. We're working with companies of all sizes - from Fortune 500 companies down to early stage startups - to help them integrate dozens of software vendors within a few days instead of months.

Instead of having to get their hands on a sandbox environment, build the integration code and figure out the edge cases dozens of times, they can only once use a well documented and clean abstraction provided by Kombo.
