Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&D Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an R&D Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving our new initiative toward solving unsolved problems in the fintech space. You will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and robust solutions that empower our platform engineers and internal teams. Your expertise in the Python ecosystem, system design, caching implementation, data fragmentation, and database complexities will be instrumental in tackling complex challenges and driving innovation.

Responsibilities:

Lead the research and development efforts for our new initiative in the fintech space, focusing on solving complex problems and delivering scalable solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, platform engineers, and data scientists, to define requirements, prioritize projects, and design innovative solutions. Design and architect scalable and robust systems that meet the needs of our internal teams and empower platform engineers. Develop and maintain high-quality code using the Python ecosystem, adhering to best practices and coding standards. Implement caching strategies to optimize system performance and improve response times. Evaluate and implement data fragmentation techniques to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Apply your in-depth knowledge of databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, to design and optimize database schemas and queries. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to fintech and system design. Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior team members to ensure code quality and foster professional growth. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement, propose innovative solutions, and drive the implementation of new features and functionalities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on research and development.
• Expertise in the Python ecosystem, including Python programming, relevant frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask), and libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas).
• Solid understanding of system design principles and experience in architecting scalable and robust systems.
• Proficiency in implementing caching strategies to optimize system performance and improve response times.
• Strong knowledge of data fragmentation techniques and their application in large-scale systems.
• Experience working with complex databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, and ability to optimize database schemas and queries.
• Familiarity with fintech industry trends, regulations, and challenges is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead projects, work independently, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience in a mid-managerial or technical leadership role, leading a team of engineers.
