About MagnaPlay:
At MagnaPlay, we're building a collaborative platform to accelerate video game development and publishing. Leveraging the context of the entire project, we help generate cohesive content and keep teams aligned as they iterate. We are getting started with string management and localization, by merging cutting-edge AI contextual translation, with a global network of linguistic experts to create immersive gaming experiences for players worldwide, and make global launches accessible to all developers no matter how small.

The Role:
We're looking for a highly motivated and talented Founding Engineer. You will drive efforts to design and build our core technologies, working closely with the founding team (that is technical 😎🧙🏻).
We’re looking for someone who is not only a great individual contributor, but who is eager to build and embody a great company culture and evolve as a leader.
What You'll Do:
- Own the design and implementation of our core technologies.
- Lead our technology team and define the structure and strategies for efficiently running it.
- Be the voice of our engineering team and ensure MagnaPlay is a great work environment that attracts top talent.
- Collaborate with the founding team to define the roadmap, vision and strategy for the company.

How we’re solving localization
We are in an outdated market in which current customers distrust machine-only translation, and pay big premiums for incumbents that work through the agency model. This makes it very hard for us to build a business that is software only or charged through a subscription fee, we would need to convince our market to change their workflow, while learning while we need to build.
To solve this, we are operating as a traditional agency, with the upper hand in pricing, quality and experience our tech provides us. In parallel, we are selling the platform we’ve built to make our agency more competitive as a SAAS to several ICPs.
What we’re doing next
While building around game development teams, we’ve realized this is a huge, underserved market with a unique combination of technical and narrative challenges. Many of the inefficiencies they have come from lack of context, poor versioning and change propagation, and repetitive tasks, all issues we have solved for localization.
We aim to leverage the tech we’ve built to make the lives of game developers easier, positioning MagnaPlay as central to their workflow throughout development, publishing and live-ops.
