We use artificial intelligence and machine learning to create products that help nurses, doctors, and hospital staff anticipate issues and make operational decisions proactively.

About the Role:

Are you ready to innovate at the intersection of healthcare and AI? We’re looking for a creative, self-starting, Innovation Engineer to develop new applications and products, powered by AI models, that enhance hospital operations and patient care. Join our innovation team, where your work will directly contribute to simplifying healthcare processes through automation and intelligent decision-making.

As a Innovation Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the exploration and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, especially LLMs, to develop new product directions and applications. Your work will span across the stack from infrastructure to backend to frontend to product thinking.

  • Collaborate with CTO and cross-functional teams to help mature and integrate exploratory products and solutions into our existing platforms.

  • Quickly iterate and build prototypes to validate concepts and refine user-centric solutions

  • Stay abreast of the latest AI research to ensure our solutions remain at the forefront of technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ability to quickly build and iterate on product prototypes.

  • Understand our users to work through ambiguity and develop a personal sense of product direction.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers and other team members to productionalize models and exploratory products.

  • Provide technical leadership in GenAI opportunities and best practices.

  • Stay updated with AI advances and explore new findings to improve existing products.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in developing new products and knowledge of generative AI models, such as GPT-3.5/GPT-4.

  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, etc).

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for innovation in healthcare.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Experience putting products from the ground up, including some backend and frontend experience. Particularly Python applications.

  • Experience with healthcare data and understanding of healthcare workflows.

  • Publications or contributions to AI research.

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Qventus is on a mission to take modern technologies and principles that have been proven in other industries — artificial intelligence, machine learning, behavioral science, and data science — and apply them to simplify healthcare operations. At Qventus, you will have the opportunity to work with an exceptional, mission-driven team, and the ability to directly impact the lives of patients. We’re inspired to work with healthcare leaders on our founding vision and unlock world-class medicine through world-class operations.

About Qventus

We are a team of technologists, software engineers, doctors, nurses, and lean healthcare experts with on-the-ground experience solving operational challenges in clinical environments. Qventus helps hospitals like Stanford/Mayo Clinic/Emory/New York Presbyterian reduce wait time for patients, prevent patient falls, and generally helps hospitals deliver a better and safer experience for patients, resulting in reduced injuries, loss of life, and financial waste.

We're making a big difference. Qventus has meaningfully affected patient experiences and outcomes for almost 4 million patients across the united states. Our platform works with hospital data to predict negative outcomes for patients and associated potentially disastrous situations that are likely to occur, then applies our system of action to reach the right doctors and nurses, at the right time, telling them where to go to stop these events before they happen. Think Minority Report applied to hospitals.

Our founding team has done this before. Two of our three founders worked in consulting for over a decade solving efficiency problems in hospitals. They know hospitals, where they've been, where they want to go, and how to work within them to drive the necessary mind shift and change management we need to drive this new wave of technology.

Our team is top notch! We have the fortune of having amazing engineerings and data scientists from top schools (Stanford, MIT, Cal, etc.) applying the latest in artificial intelligence and machine learning to create products that help healthcare organizations around the world and their people adapt in the moment and make the right decisions from the most complex data. Furthermore, we employ several practicing clinicians (practicing surgeons, doctors, nurses) in the company to help us understand the hospital environment. We take what we do very seriously.
