About the role

Vanta is on a mission to secure the internet and protect consumer data. Before Vanta, companies were stuck in a perpetual cycle of having to make the feature vs compliance and security tradeoff. They had to engage with costly auditors that took hundreds of our of valuable company-building time, spending hours aggregating data instead of working on making their software better. 

Our challenge is to enable B2B companies to remain continuously secure and compliant with an ever decreasing amount of effort. That means helping our customers understand what good security looks like, helping them become secure as their business changes, and helping them prove their compliance and security so that they can grow their business. Most importantly, it means designing a product that will change the incentives to make security a no-brainer investment for all companies. You will be responsible for the platform that helps customers build and manage automations that help them stay secure and compliant. 

At Vanta, you'll have the opportunity to impact our product and design strategy and spawn entirely new projects that are design-driven. We’re looking for a collaborative teammate capable of delivering and taking feedback. What you’ll do as a Product Designer at Vanta:

  • Have 6+ years of experience as a product designer shipping products and delivering customer value

  • Have a passion for tackling complex user problems and shaping them into powerful/simple outcomes.

  • Have strong visual, UI and interaction skills

  • Enjoy spending time understanding users and their problems

  • Have effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Have prior experience in one of the following areas:

  • Dig deep to understand our customers, their challenges, and opportunities to make them more successful

  • Directly contribute to business outcomes through your work

  • Own your design process end to end

  • Contribute to the overall strategy and decision making for Vanta’s product direction

  • Create, collaborate, and iterate on flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals

  • Use and evolve our internal design system

  • Work closely with engineers and other partners to ensure a high-quality implementation

  • Help with hiring and establishing a design culture within Vanta

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $170,000. This role may also be eligible for commissions/bonus, equity, medical benefits, 401(k) plan, and other company perk programs.

About Vanta

We started Vanta in 2016 as Equifax had lost every American's social security number, Home Depot had leaked its customers' credit card numbers to hackers, and Facebook admitted that it irresponsibly sent user data to third parties who tried to influence the US election. It was clear that security and privacy had become mainstream issues, and that we all increasingly relied on cloud services to store everything from our personal photos to our communications at work.

 

Vanta's mission is to be the layer of trust on top of these services, and to secure the internet, increase trust in software companies, and keep consumer data safe.

 

We do this by building an automated head of security for technology companies, and we use that system to both help a company secure itself and to prove their security to others.

 

If we succeed in our mission, it should feel irresponsible for users to put data into a product that isn't certified by Vanta, and irresponsible for companies to collect data without using Vanta to secure and monitor themselves.
