💪 Flex: Stripe for HSA/FSA payments

We enable businesses to unlock the $120B per year sitting in HSA/FSA accounts.

TL;DR - Flex is Stripe for HSA/FSAs*. We enable businesses to unlock the $120B per year sitting in HSA/FSA accounts. To learn more or start accepting HSA/FSA payments, email partners@withflex.com.

PROBLEM

Today, HSA/FSAs can only be spent at medical institutions or large retailers that have specific inventory management systems in place to comply with IRS regulations.

As a result many consumer wellness, fitness, nutrition, and even e-commerce companies selling health related products are not able to accept HSA/FSAs.

These businesses are missing out on 60M American consumers who are looking to spend $120B per year from their HSA/FSA accounts on health related products and services.

SOLUTION

Flex is a payment platform for businesses to accept HSA/FSA cards.

We provide a prebuilt, hosted checkout page or UI building blocks to integrate HSA/FSA payments directly into your existing payments flow.

We know how critical your checkout flow is so Flex pages are thoughtfully designed to optimize conversion.

HOW IT WORKS

For pre-approved items by the IRS: Flex checks your inventory against the most up to date IRS approved products list and it processes the FSA or HSA payment, and keeps the necessary records in the case of an audit.

For non-pre-approved items: Flex’s asynchronous telehealth team assesses medical necessity and can issue the required paperwork to make your product or service HSA/FSA eligible for the customer — all in a streamlined checkout flow.

(Checkout flow with telehealth intake form.)

TEAM

We’re Sam and Miguel! We met working together at a growth stage at fintech company, Unit21. We’re both lifelong athletes, and started Flex because we believe we can improve people’s lives by making healthy habits more accessible.

*Background - What are HSA/FSAs?

HSAs (Health Savings Account) and FSAs (Flexible Savings Accounts) are accounts that allow you to set aside pre-tax money to spend on health related purchases. Since you aren't being taxed on the money you put into the account, anything you spend it on is effectively ~30% cheaper.
