Hey YC - I'm Aidan, founder of Autostep.
TLDR: Every company wants to deploy AI agents, but almost none have a way to identify their best use cases. Autostep is a desktop app that installs across your organization to surface repetitive, high-cost tasks that fly under the radar. We rank them by cost and impact so you know what's worth automating, then build or find the right fix - whether that's an AI agent, a process change, or an existing tool.

The Problem
The bottleneck isn't tooling anymore, it's discovery. Without visibility into what people actually do all day, automation efforts are shots in the dark. Autostep is the layer that makes agent deployment rational instead of random.
Automation vendors start with the solution and hope you know the problem. We start with the problem.
Why Now
The AI agent market is exploding, but adoption is stalling because there's no way to map operations at the level agents actually need. Autostep is the operational intelligence layer that every company will need before they can meaningfully deploy agents. We're not competing with agent builders - we're the prerequisite.
Compounding Context
The tooling landscape shifts every month - new agents, new platforms, new vendors - and no team feels like they can keep up. Autostep gives you a living map of your operations, so you're not chasing the next tool. You're building compounding context about how your company actually works. When better AI arrives, you're ready to use the latest - not starting over. You stay ahead of competitors.
This is for those who want visibility into what their teams actually do - and agents that fit the work, not work that fits the agents.
Backstory
I’m Aidan. I studied ML and CS at Georgia Tech and have been building and shipping products since I was a kid. I’ve also spent the past 6 years working on automation-based products that led to this moment. Working at seed to Series A startups with strong PMF, I saw the same pattern over and over: companies wanted to automate but had no systematic way to figure out what was actually worth automating. That discovery gap is what Autostep solves.
Our Ask
If you know any operations leaders or C-suite/leadership at companies who want visibility into what their teams are actually doing before throwing AI at the problem - we'd love an intro.
