🔄 The Rapid Evolution

You may remember text.ai, our AI that lives inside SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp, and Telegram chats. Tens of thousands of users and over 10M+ messages across 150+ countries in a rapid few months showed us something we didn't expect:

People didn't just want answers. We realized they wanted a social friend who understands and acts. Together.

Not a sterile bot. Someone with personality and character. Someone who understood their unique group, who's vegan, who hates horror movies, who always wants ramen.

They wanted a premium chat experience that was inherently social.

Why?

We distilled it down to one thing.

There is a place where we feel our happiest. All of us.

The group.

Humans are born into them. And thrive in them. But today, there are very few products to support them.

Places where groups can live. But not thrive.

And so, friends drift apart. Plans go unplanned. The chat fades.

So, we started building Alfi, our human-first, AI native approach to messaging.

We're in the middle of a quiet shift. Gen Z is leaving broadcast social media. They're retreating to group chats, smaller, more intentional and personal spaces where they're honestly themselves.

But group chats are also where plans go to die. Someone has to be "the planner" or nothing happens.

We believe the group chat is the real social network. Where the funniest moments and real conversations happen in real time. With Alfi, we hope to bring you together more expressively, a lot more often.

This technology will bring humanity closer than it's ever been before. Not replace connection, deepen it. That's the future we're building toward.

👥 The Team On The Mission

Founded by myself ( @rushishah , ex-Tesla Youngest Product Lead), @praharpatel (Ex-Opentable, Eventbrite, Walmart Labs Engineering Lead ), and @maniar (Former Founder, ex-Gannett Media, McKinsey).

We're three friends who've been building consumer products together since college. Known each other for years. We're building Alfi because we've experienced firsthand how technology meant to connect people often creates more friction.

We’re taking a first principles approach. Something I learned firsthand from Elon during my time at Tesla. We believe AI should fit into your life, not the other way around.
