Hey YC,
We’re Michael, Josiah, and Henry, co-founders of Voquill.
TLDR: Voquill is an AI coworker that helps pathologists write cases faster using their voice. Over the last 4 weeks. We’ve onboarded 25+ pathologists.
The Problem:
Pathologists are doctors who diagnose diseases by looking at tissues, cells, and fluids. They spend their whole day looking through a microscope, observing patterns, and then documenting their findings. These reports can be repetitive and tedious. Pathologists bill a total of $30-$40BN each year yet a third of that spend goes to documentation, not diagnosis, which is a massive drag on a field that's already short-staffed.
Our Solution:
Voquill is an AI coworker that helps pathologists write their reports faster. Think of it like an AI resident that listens to the pathologist as they work the case and drafts the report automatically. It learns the pathologists reporting style from their old cases, and ensures every report meets the bar for quality. We go beyond dictation and don't generate a transcript, but a finished sign-out ready report instead. This enables pathologists to spend more time on patient outcomes and sign out more cases.
There is already a shortage of pathologists when compared to the case demand. This gap is expected to increase to 25% over the next decade. We’re building Voquill to give pathologists the tools they need to work faster.
One More Thing:
Voquill is being used by 25 pathologists from a leading F500 lab, saving each one ~20% in case writing time every day. We started with voice reporting because it's the highest-leverage moment in the workflow. We’ve since found that it's also the right moment to fix billing: as pathologists describe what they see, Voquill suggests the optimal CPT codes, helping labs capture more of the $8B+ they currently leave on the table.
The Team:
Michael and Josiah previously worked at Techcyte, where they led the AI team and architected digital pathology systems. Henry was a Principal at Oliver Wyman, building AI and automation tools for F500 firms.
Our Ask:
If you know any pathology labs or pathologists that sign out cases, please introduce us by emailing michael@voquill.com. Or, book a demo here.
