I'm passionate about rethinking how consumers discover and order food. I studied economics and statistics at Cal Poly. Prior to founding Locale, I worked in tech investment banking for a year. I enjoy cooking, traveling, skiing and searching for the best local food spots wherever I go.
Jonathan Friedland
I grew up in the Bay Area surrounded by amazing food options but no way to get them all delivered at once. I started working on Locale in 2020 with my best friends, Chris and Kaveh, to do just that. I focus on our team's marketing efforts and growing our customer base. I'm passionate about expanding equitable access to local food and love to ski and surf.

I am very passionate about supporting my local community which is a large part of why Locale was created. I also love to try new foods, travel, work out, and play sports. If you managed to find me on a weeknight, you would probably find me reading books or burying my face in web articles.

It’s time-consuming and expensive to coordinate food delivery every day for office lunches so we partnered with local restaurants to offer heat-and-eat meals that last the whole week in your office fridge. Your employees place one group order the prior week and all meals arrive Monday morning. No need to coordinate daily orders and deliveries. Employees can grab meals from the fridge and microwave for 1 min whenever they’re hungry.

😡 The problem
When we started working in person this year we tried dozens of lunch services and couldn't find a good option for startups with <20 employees
- It’s a pain to coordinate daily orders and daily deliveries for employee lunches
- Food delivery is expensive and it’s hard to find one restaurant that everyone likes
- Most small startups are below the order minimum for catering services
😋 Our solution
Locale partners with top local restaurants to offer heat-and-eat meals that last all week in your office fridge. Your employees place one group order by Friday for all their lunches for the following week and they arrive Monday morning. Employees can grab them and quickly reheat whenever they’re hungry.
⚙️ How does it work?
- Employees choose from 100+ prepared meals from 20+ top restaurants. All meals are $11 or less.
- Since orders are pre-scheduled, we're able to place bulk orders days ahead of pickup with restaurants, saving them time and money. We then pass along savings to you.
- Meals from multiple restaurants are delivered together and arrive refrigerated. Meals are sealed to extend their shelf life. All meals are ready in 2 steps or less.
