Magic Patterns helps software teams prototype their product ideas. Startups in the current batch and enterprises use us to create designs quickly and ship faster.
Alex is the co-founder of Magic Patterns. Previously, he was the first employee at another YC startup, Canopy. His title was officially "software engineer," but he also did customer support, sales, recruiting, and project management — much like his role today. Before that, he was a frontend engineer at LiveRamp.
Entrepreneurship runs in the family: his grandpa founded a tortilleria in Tijuana, Mexico in the 1970s, which still exists to this day.
Teddy is a cofounder of Magic Patterns. Prior to Magic Patterns, Teddy worked at Canopy (YC W19) as an early employee and Robinhood pre-IPO. At both companies, Teddy worked closely with design to build beautiful interfaces.
Getting design inspiration is hard — most people today use websites like Mobbin and Dribbble, but these tools don’t know what your specific product looks like. You need inspiration that actually looks like what you’re building.
AI code assistants are not visual, but building UI is.
SOLUTION
Start prompting in our visual editor. You can choose a publicly available design system for free.
We use AI models to help non-technical founders, engineers, and PMs speed up time to market.
TRACTION
Take our existing customer, Outerbase, for example:
Designers use Magic Patterns to generate multiple design variations
Engineers use Magic Patterns to generate production-ready code
FOUNDERS
We’re Alex and Teddy, two technical founders who have been building products for 10 years together. Here’s us on Alex’s wedding day, where Teddy gave the best man speech about being a “work husband.” (Alex’s wife found it very funny.)
