The Recurse Center is a self-directed, educational retreat for people who want to get better at programming, whether they've been programming for three decades or three months. The retreat is free for all participants because we run an integrated recruiting agency and provide (optional) personalized recruiting services to anyone in our community considering a new job.

One Month is an accelerated learning platform. Our goal is simple -- empower people to change their lives by learning real-world skills, in a short amount of time. The One Month team is comprised of education thought-leaders and self-taught technology experts working to build the most effective way to learn online.

DeansList is a new gradebook that helps schools assess critical “soft skills” like perseverance, diligence, leadership, teamwork and grit. With DeansList, schools capture data on classroom behavior and disciplinary interventions, and use that data to define metrics and goals for student improvement. They also benefit from powerful analytics enabling them to see behavior trends emerge and constantly improve school culture.

ReadWorks offers free, research-based, classroom-proven lessons and online training to help K-6 teachers explicitly teach the component skills and strategies of reading comprehension, while also supporting the much needed development of background knowledge and vocabulary.

Mosa Mack Science is an interactive science curriculum that combines mysteries, labs and engineering challenges. Utilizing a fun, diverse cast of characters, each episode examines a science topic using an inquiry-model and ends with a query the students attempt to solve together using customizable discussion guides. Mosa Mack Science strives to expose all students to the thrill of problem-solving while empowering girls and children of color in science.

KickUp partners with K-12 organizations to coordinate professional learning efforts, improve decision-making and ensure that great ideas translate into demonstrable outcomes in the classroom. “The great thing about KickUp is they brought credibility to the professional development work we are doing. It’s challenging to be a ‘prophet in our own land’, but having KickUp’s professional reports presented in clear and compelling ways instantly became a communication tool between our entire curriculum department, the district cabinet, and the school board. I was able to use the resources KickUp created for a board report and now the district is interested in seeing how all of the other departments can benefit from their services. We are in need of someone who can take that step back and see the big picture of what we are trying to accomplish with professional development, effective student learning, and assessment and tie it all together for us in ways that make sense. KickUp has become the connector between departments, helping to lead us all in our common goal, to improve learning for our students.

UPchieve is an edtech nonprofit that provides free, 24/7 online tutoring to low-income HS students. Using our app, students can request and get paired with a live volunteer in under 5 minutes. We’ve matched 100,000+ requests so far. Right now in the US, there are 8 million low-income HS students who don’t have anyone in their home who can help them with schoolwork. UPchieve is working to change that. Our vision is simple: we want to democratize access to academic support, so that every student has an equal opportunity to attend college and achieve upward mobility.

Litnerd is an online reading program that brings K-5 books to life by streaming live actors in the classroom. We blend the creator economy to traditional education, complete with ebooks and lesson plans. Litnerd will teach the 37 Million elementary school students in America how to read. Today schools spend approx. $20 Billion on reading and supplemental education programs. Yet 42% of their students still cannot read by 4th grade. Litnerd is a contracted vendor with the largest education district in America, New York City Department of Education. Our program is currently implemented as designated classroom reading time across public schools. We have been growing aggressively at 60% MoM, used by over 14,000 paying students and hit $110K in ARR in less than 5 months.

Stepful trains people with a high school education in 4 months and places them into healthcare jobs. Healthcare is the fastest growing industry in the US accounting for 40% of all jobs added including medical assistants, nursing assistants, and phlebotomists.

Toko helps English learners in East Asia achieve speaking fluency. Through our mobile app, learners engage in short, realistic conversations with an AI and receive feedback on their grammar. With over 150 topics, learners can practice real-world scenarios ranging from small talk to workplace discussions. Toko offers a low-pressure environment to help learners build up their confidence. We make language fluency accessible to everyone - not just those with the means to meet 1:1 with a tutor. In Taiwan (our first market), Toko is ranked #3 in the App Store for Education!
